Sunderland High School achieves 'outstanding' results in 2011 Inspection
As a member of the United Church Schools Trust ( UCST) family, Sunderland High School shares the objective of bringing out ‘the best in everyone’ and these latest inspection results highlight all the hard work carried out by teachers, pupils and parents at the school.
The Inspection report outlined that: ‘teaching strongly enables the pupils’ successful learning and leads to high achievement’; and that ‘the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the pupils is excellent throughout the school.’
Dr Angela Slater, Head of Sunderland High School said: “I would like to express my gratitude to the staff of the school, both teaching and support staff. Their never-ending dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to the school and the pupils they teach is what has made this outstanding report possible.”
The report confirms Sunderland High School’s position as an outstanding independent school of the very highest calibre.
The report concluded that: ‘The quality of governance and of leadership and management in the school is outstanding, being thorough, committed and strong. Each part supports the other extremely well. Measures to promote successful learning by all pupils are careful land thorough. The school is committed to bringing out the best in each person and it pursues this aim successfully in all its arrangements and practices.’
