Edward Gould, Chairman of United Learning Trust said:
“There are some magnificent results here that are tribute to the hard work of all ULT Principals and staff. It is inspirational teachers who motivate students to learn and we are delighted to have staff whose commitment to their children is second to none. Likewise these results drive up aspiration and have a strong positive impact on the local communities that our Academies serve.
Commenting on today’s GCSE results, Kathy August, Acting Chief Executive of United Learning Trust said:
“Today’s results from our 17 academies demonstrate the improvement that ULT academies are capable of delivering. We are celebrating some fantastic results from Accrington and Barnsley in the North to Shoreham, Midhurst, Lambeth and Paddington in the South.
“The overwhelming majority of our Academies took over poorly performing schools in areas of real need and deprivation and, on average, have improved by 27% points since opening. All are on a journey towards being outstanding schools and for some it takes time. Many are already demonstrating levels of improvement that no-one could have imagined their predecessor schools attaining. And some are now amongst the most improved schools in the country delivering an outstanding education for their children.
“What today demonstrates is that the relentless focus on improvement and the values that ULT Principals and staff instil in their students are delivering the outcomes that parents want and our students and their communities deserve.
“Today’s results are evidence of the sustained hard work that our staff and students put in across the country to raise the standards of education. This desire to outperform is integral to the values of ULT and something that we strive to continue to improve year on year.”
